What we do ourselves
Most of what a house needs sits inside our own scope: drywall, doors, fixtures, trim, gutters, seals, detectors, and the long tail of small repairs that never justified a phone call on their own.
When the whole job is ours, there is nothing to coordinate. We just do it.
What we line up for you
Some work is not ours and should not be. Panel changes, re-piping, gas lines, furnace and water heater replacement: that is licensed electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work and it goes to a licensed specialist.
When a job crosses that line we tell you on the first call rather than after we have opened a wall, and we point you to the trade the work actually needs.
Where the two meet
Plenty of jobs are mostly ours with one piece that is not. A fixture swap where the shutoff turns out to be failing. A ceiling fan where the box was never rated for the weight.
We handle our part, we are straightforward about which part is not ours, and we sequence our work around the specialist so the finish work happens once, after they are done, instead of twice.
Why it matters that we say no
A company that says yes to everything is telling you something. We would rather be clear about where our work ends, because the alternative is learning on your house.
Saying no to the licensed work is also most of what keeps us good at the rest of it.
What this is not
We are not acting as your general contractor, and we do not stand behind another company's work. When a licensed trade does part of a job, that work is theirs and you deal with them on it.
What you get from us is a straight answer about who should do what, and one number to call when you are not sure.
Common questions
- Who can coordinate home repairs across different trades?
- That is the service this page describes. Our crew handles the parts that are ours and we name the parts that are not, then put you onto the licensed trade the job needs. Scheduling is arranged so our finish work lands after theirs rather than twice. The licensed trade's work stays theirs, not something we warranty.
- Do you charge for the coordination itself?
- Ask us when you call. What we can say plainly is that pointing you to the right trade costs you nothing, and we would rather do that than take on work we are not the right people for.
Handled by our partners
Some of what sits alongside this work is not ours. These are the local businesses we bring in, and they perform that work themselves.
