Fall home maintenance and winter home preparation
The fall visit is the one that saves the most money. Winter home preparation means clearing gutters before they freeze solid, shutting off and draining exterior hose bibs, sealing the gaps that let heat out, and confirming the furnace filter is not still the one from last year.
A hose bib left charged through a hard cold snap is a burst line inside a wall, which is a drywall bill and a plumbing bill at the same time. Twenty minutes in October avoids it.
Spring home maintenance
Spring home maintenance is about finding what winter did. We walk the roof line and look into the attic for signs of ice damming, check the seals and caulk that moved over the cold months, clear the gutters again after the thaw, and get cooling sorted before the first hot week.
Finding a lifted shingle in April is a different conversation than finding it in July.
Why preventive home maintenance costs less
Most expensive home repairs started as a cheap one nobody caught. Preventive home maintenance is not glamorous work. It is filters, seals, batteries, and gutters. It is also the difference between replacing a detector battery and replacing a ceiling.
Homeowners on one of our plans get these visits scheduled automatically, which removes the part people actually fail at: remembering.
What we hand off
We change filters, test detectors, and keep the exterior sealed. We do not service, repair, or replace furnaces, air conditioners, or water heaters. That is licensed HVAC and plumbing work and we refer it out.
Handled by our partners
Some of what sits alongside this work is not ours. These are the local businesses we bring in, and they perform that work themselves.
